University Days

Three of the eight days of your Senior Space School week are spent on the University campus. You will hear from experts in areas such as space dynamics, space particle physics, rockets, powering satellites, exoplanets, and planetary science. After these lectures you will have the chance to put into practice what you have just learned, with a hands-on workshop session which will be both challenging and fun. You will get the chance to use high quaility equipment and be stretched to tackle degree level concepts.

End each day with an interactive quiz competition to test whether you have been listening!

Special guest speaker Dr. Kevin Fong, a leading expert on Space Medicine in the UK and the co-ordinator of the Centre for Aviation Space and Extreme Enviroment Medicine, will again be returning to give a talk on Human Spaceflight. Also, new to 2011, we will be joined by researchers from the Genetics department to run a workshop that 'takes DNA into space'.

These University days will be held in the undergraduate lecture theatres and laboratories, predominently in the Physics and Astronomy department. You will have lunch on campus, look around the student union, and overall gain a good insight into what life is like as a University undergraduate.
