Learn about the night sky and the vast number of planets and stars you will hopefully be seeing later on. While still light you will need to get your bed ready for the night so putting your teamwork skills to the test you need to get your tent up. Collecting some firewood might also be a good idea as it can get cold on summer nights, and of course don't forget to find a good stick for toasting marshmellows!

 

With the setting Sun, out come the stars and the real observing can begin as you explore the magnificence of the night sky. Identifying constellations and simple objects with both the naked eye and with the aid of binoculars you will be amazed at what you can see. Once you have mastered your way around the night sky, you can move on to using the bigger telescopes to find and see even more objects. A nice cup of hot chocolate and some campfire singing always goes down well before bed.
